Small Scale Industrial Units

The availability of reliable data on small industries is inadequate. By the end of the March, 2001 the number of permanently registered small scale industries both SIDO & NON-SIDO rose to 8,991 (excluding deregistered) units with an investment in plant and machinery of Rs. 33.04/- crores employing 47,934 persons with an annual production of Rs. 143.58 crores from a mere 197 numbers by the end of the year 1979-80.
