The History

Ministry of Ayush, Government of India observes Ayurveda Day every year on Dhanawantari Jayanti (Dhanteras) since 2016. Ayurveda is perceived as one of the most ancient well documented system of medicine equally relevant in modern times, wherein prevention of disease and promotion of health are both given due consideration. Its holistic approaches whether for healthy individuals or for diseased ones remains unparalleled.

No. 5/438/2016-MASTEC:         Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC), Imphal confers State Science Communicator Award annually. The award has been instituted to recognise outstanding efforts and achievements in communicating science & technology and promoting scientific attitude among the people. The Award carries Rs 10,000/- in cash, Citation and a Memento.

 

Individuals/Science Communicators or organizations domiciled in Manipur who made outstanding contributions in Science Communication in the following areas in the previous 3 years are eligible to apply for State Science Communicator Award 2023.

 

i) Science Communication through Print Media (Newspaper);
           ii) Science Communication through Books/Publications;
          iii) Science Communication through Lectures/Science Communication Programme.

 

Interested individuals/organisations may submit duly filled in application form along with supporting documents to the office of the undersigned on or before December 5, 2023. The application form may be collected from the office of MASTEC or downloaded from its website: https://mastec(dot)nic(dot)in.

Capacity Building on Geoinformatics, Geomatics &Capacity Building on Geoinformatics, Geomatics &Geospatial Technology (including drone technology) applications for NER by NECTAR.

NECTAR has launched four training modules on Geospatial Technology application to train and build students and unemployed qualified youths from North East region into professional resource person with the introduction to Drone awareness & certified Remote Pilot Training. It will enable them with better Job opportunities in both Government and Private sectors. Application of Drone based Geospatial Technologies have advantages in many different areas such as Agriculture, Urban Planning, Tourism, Insurance, Marketing, Mapping, Navigation, Disaster Management, and security etc., which providea better decision support systems for planning and development activities.

To initiate the same, the following modules have been organised: -

  • Module-I-Remote Pilot Certification & Licensing (RPCL): 5 days training on drone training organized by DGCA authorized RPTOs in association with NECTAR.
  • Module-II-Drone Awareness Training Program (DAT): 5 days training on drone technology awareness by I-Hub foundation for Cobotics (IHFC)- IIT Delhi.
  • Module-III-Drone Data Acquisition & Processing (DDAP): 5 Days full-time classroom-based training on Drone Data acquisition and Processing in various applications.
  • Module IV- Basics of GIS &Remote Sensing (GISRS): 10 days of full-time classroom-based training on Application of Remote Sensing and GIS.

The advertisement of the training program has been published in various newspapers of NER dated 19th March 2023. Detailed about the program, eligibility, course fee and terms and condition along with application format and schedule of the training program is enclosed in the Brochure and in the website i.e., www.nectar.org.in also.

Individuals/Science Popularisation Activists or organizations domiciled in Manipur who made outstanding contributions in Science Popularisation in the following areas in the previous 3 years are eligible to apply for Dr. Pravabati Science Popularisation Award 2023.

i) Science Popularisation through Electronic Media (TV & Radio);
           ii) Science Popularisation through lectures/hands on activities etc.;
          iii) Guiding Students in the preparation of Science Models/Projects.

State Science and Technology Programme (SSTP)

The Government of India has initiated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India. To celebrate the Mahotsav, it has been decided by Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi to instigate the One Month One Theme initiative. This will begin from September, 2021 and will end in August, 2022. The following twelve themes have been identified for One Month One Theme initiative and the particular State Councils have been identified to coordinate and prepare the framework.
